Lylna Thao thought she could handle the traditional Hmong marriage; after all, that was what her Laotian family expected of her. But once she was wed the crushing reality of her new life descended on her. She secretly began to take boxing classes, got divorced, despite the scandal it caused in the Hmong community, and then began fighting in the octagon as a women's mixed martial artist. Ask her what she thinks of her life now and she'll exclaim, "I love life!" Her record is 9-4.
